Parkhill Cellars is owned and run by a local family and is truly independent. They have a great collection of back vintage wines from classic producers as well as smaller boutique producers. Patsy’s Wine Room celebrates the beautiful bounty of the Mediterranean through an incredible meat-free menu and a carefully curated wine list. Owned by the hospitality kingpin Andrew McConnell (Cutler & Co.), it’s his chill, younger bro with a killer wine list and menu. The former Fitzroy club room has  been transformed into a sleek space with plenty of charm with a set menu that focuses on local produce and accommodates the wine perfectly.
With a wall full of all Victorian wines, what to drink is one of the few decisions you’ll have to make over the course of the night – and the host will gladly  guide you through. Simplicity satisfies at Brico, a wine bar in Carlton North that champions small local producers. This charming 30-seater is housed in the same historic corner building where Little Andorra, and even further back in time, the famous restaurant of the ‘80s and ‘90s, Tansy’s, used to live.

The menu features seafood and grazing plates as well as burgers and steaks. The peninsula has so many fabulous wineries that we’ve dedicated a separate article to them, and we recommend taking a winery tour to make the most of your visit. These are used to produce vegan-friendly, sustainable, and palate-pleasing wines. Sustainability is a priority here and in 2023 Barwon Ridge became the first vineyard in Geelong to receive sustainability certification from Sustainable Winegrowing Australia. The Barrel Hall at Mt Duneed Winery is a relaxed eatery combining rustic country style with a thoroughly modern menu. In the warmer months, the Garden Bar is perfect for relaxing with a drink and a shared plate overlooking the vineyards.
