Montessori Early Learning Education & Childcare in Melbourne
Our STEM curriculum nurtures confident mathematical thinkers through hands-on, inquiry-based projects. Children explore topics like bees, coding BE-BOTS, and recycling with local council support. Tailored teaching inspires critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong social connections, encouraging cooperation and curiosity through engaging, real-world learning experiences. Communication is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements. Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration.
The program is based on the ‘forest preschool’ approach, originally established over 50 years ago in Scandinavia and now an international movement. In Victoria, 3 and pakenham early learning 4-year-old children are able to access a funded Kindergarten program led by a Bachelor Qualified Teacher. If eligible, your child will be able to participate in the government-approved Kindergarten program, at no cost, up to a minimum of 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
For over 25 years, our caring educators have delivered early education with heart, integrity, and a strong sense of community. Every child is supported, celebrated, and encouraged to reach their full potential and thrive. Our experienced and attentive educators encourage children to set their imagination free and uncover their own path to learning. It is our aim to provide an environment in which the children are able to safely and freely experience the world around them through exploration, inquiry and discovery within a Christ-centred framework. The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming. At Chairo, we aim to help individual children develop in each of these three important areas. In our tailored 3 and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs, your child will engage in play-based learning, exploration, and endless fun. Our program is designed around the interests of children to allow them to discover, challenge themselves, and take risks.
The Little Learners Toddler Program is designed to create an engaging environment that supports your toddler’s social and cognitive development. We provide a fun, play-based learning approach that engages their young and active minds within a safe and stimulating environment. Our Baby Steps Nursery Program provides a nurturing environment, with daily activities and intentional teaching opportunities to support your child in reaching developmental milestones. Our play-based learning approach allows children to learn through sensory play, as well as build a foundation for future learning. Pakenham's childcare and kindergarten indoor rooms connect seamlessly with the outdoor yard area, which allows the children to explore and play, supporting their overall learning experience. Aspire Pakenham’s outdoor facilities include different playground areas, a cubby house, veggie gardens, bike paths, sand pits, and dry creek beds.
Whether it’s a one-off issue or requires ongoing care, talk to your teachers if your child is on regular medication or has food allergies or intolerances. The team is there to support your family, and the more you can tell them, the better they can help. They will ask you for information from your doctor about how much your child takes and how often. They will set up a new plan to support you, including any necessary training.
This is more than childcare; it’s an environment meticulously crafted to nurture creativity, ignite curiosity, and empower your child’s extraordinary learning journey. We welcome special guests from the local Pakenham community, such as police, the fire brigade, and pet ownership experts, to support children’s interests. These visits foster a sense of belonging and help children develop social and observational skills with various people, places, and environments.
The Funded Kinder Program ensures all children can access quality early learning and build a strong foundation for school. For children with additional needs or behaviours of concern, we collaborate with inclusion support professionals, allied health teams, and our Kindergarten Improvement Advisor. These partnerships help us apply for additional support, develop strategies, and create inclusive, nurturing environments where all children can thrive. We tailor our program to meet the individual needs of every child, working closely with families, educators, and support professionals.
We have a multipurpose room that we use for rest and relaxation, indoor play and smaller group experiences. We have fully funded, free kindergarten programs integrated into long day care. The Early Years Learning Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning. At Little Stars Pakenham, we recognize the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. From when we walked in the door with Brianna/Mini we’ve felt at peace knowing staff there have a high level of care and work well as a team and with us parents. As a parent of two Special Needs children we took the step to change daycares and we should of done it sooner.
This engaging activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they carefully brushed the paint and sprinkled glitter. Before Charlotte sits down for lunch with her friends and educators, Charlotte takes part in the centre’s sports program. From the moment you book a tour with us through to enrolment and your child’s first day, we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. We maintain an open-door policy and highly value your input and feedback, as this helps us form collaborative relationships and create a supportive environment for all children, families, and educators. Thanks to the in-house chef at our Pakenham child care centre, your child can expect healthy, nutritious, and yummy meals. We offer a rotating seasonal menu, providing breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack freshly made daily. Our families provide feedback on our centre menu and we create the menu around their voices.
Multilingual environments also promote cultural appreciation and may align with families seeking to embrace Canada’s multicultural fabric. Nutrition and learning about healthy eating are also an important part of Aspire Pakenham’s curriculum. Recently the Kinder children participated in a sorting activity mat to learn about healthy and unhealthy foods! This helps kids grasp the importance of good nutrition, which is valuable knowledge to have as they transition into school. Birches ELC is dedicated to creating an environment that feels more like a home away from home for children and parents.
